How we earn and why it doesn't bias our reviews.
This page explains how PROXYDECK earns money and how we ensure that does not bias our reviews.
1. How we make money
PROXYDECK operates on an affiliate revenue model. When you click a "Connect", "Sign up", or similar CTA on our site:
- You are redirected to the provider's official website with a tracked referral link.
- If you sign up and become a paying customer, the provider pays PROXYDECK a commission (typically 10-30% of your first payment, depending on the partner program).
- You pay the same price you would pay if you went to the provider directly. The commission comes out of the provider's marketing budget, not from your pocket.
2. Why we do this
This model lets us run weekly tests with real load on real provider infrastructure (which costs us $2K-5K/month in actual proxy bandwidth) without charging readers a subscription. It also keeps us aligned with finding genuinely useful services — we earn more when readers find a service that solves their problem and stays subscribed long-term.
3. What it does NOT mean
Our affiliate commission does not influence:
- Composite scores — calculated from objective performance metrics
- Editor's Pick badge — awarded based on test results, not commercial agreement
- Pros and cons — we list real limitations even of our partners
- Catalog ranking — sorted by score, not by commission rate
We list providers without affiliate programs (e.g., some smaller services) at the same level of detail. If a partner cuts our commission, we still test and rank them objectively.
4. How we mark sponsored content
Anything paid is clearly labeled as "Sponsored Review" or "Sponsored Listing". Regular reviews (the vast majority) are marked with our standard methodology and Editor's Pick when applicable.
5. Specific partner relationships
We have affiliate relationships with most major providers in our catalog. Our standard practice is to apply for the affiliate program after we test a provider, not before — to keep evaluation independent.
For a complete list of our affiliate partners, see the right column of any review page (look for the disclosure box at the bottom).
6. FTC and EU compliance
PROXYDECK complies with FTC Affiliate Marketing Guidelines (US) and EU Directive 2005/29/EC on unfair commercial practices. All affiliate links use rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" attribute as recommended by Google.
7. We are not a party to your purchase
When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase from a third-party provider:
- You contract directly with that provider, not with PROXYDECK.
- PROXYDECK is not a reseller, agent, or representative of any provider.
- PROXYDECK does not guarantee, warrant, or endorse the provider's service, billing, refund policies, or compliance with any laws.
- All disputes regarding payments, refunds, service quality, account issues, KYC, suspensions, or any other matter must be resolved directly with the provider.
- PROXYDECK assumes no liability for any aspect of your transaction with the provider, including but not limited to financial loss, data loss, account termination, or legal consequences.
By clicking an affiliate link, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the provider's own terms of service and privacy policy, and that you are responsible for verifying all current information directly on the provider's website before purchase.
