How to pick an iGaming proxy: the affiliate's checklist
An 11-point pre-purchase checklist for iGaming work: geo coverage, cloak tolerance, KYC practices, payment formats, sticky session length.
11-point pre-purchase checklist
This list is built from our editorial experience and feedback from affiliates we talk to. Run through all 11 points before paying for any iGaming proxy:
- Is iGaming allowed? Ask support explicitly: "Is iGaming/casino/betting use allowed?". Save the screenshot of their answer for later disputes.
- Which geos are actually available? Check the specific countries you target. If "195 countries in the pool" but Slovenia has 50 IPs — it's not usable.
- Pool size for your specific geo. Ask for the unique-IP statistics over the last week. Less than 1000 — risk of bans.
- Sticky session up to 24 hours? Critical for working with accounts. Pool-based providers with 30-minute sticky won't cut it.
- Proxy type: residential or mobile? Mobile dedicated for long-term farming. Residential for landing-page and cloak verification.
- Auth: user:pass or IP whitelist? User:pass is more convenient for anti-detect browsers. IP whitelist for server-side setups.
- Crypto allowed? Affiliates prefer crypto for KYC neutrality and fast transactions.
- Free trial or pay-as-you-go? Don't pay for a monthly subscription without a test. Trial — at minimum 100 MB.
- Refund policy. Read it carefully. With 80% of providers a refund "in case of technical issues" is hard to get in practice.
- Rotation method. By timer (3-10 min) or by URL? For affiliate work API rotation is preferred.
- 24/7 support or business hours? On weekend campaigns this can be critical.
How to verify iGaming tolerance up front
Don't take support's word for it — some providers say "yes" but block on first contact with a casino domain. Test procedure:
- Buy a minimum trial or top up $10 pay-as-you-go.
- Configure the proxy and visit 5-10 typical iGaming domains: bet365.com, parimatch.com, fonbet.com, casino.com etc. Don't sign up — just hit the homepage.
- Wait 24-48 hours and try again. If the account is suddenly suspended or proxies start dropping requests, the provider isn't tolerant.
- If it looks OK, scale up gradually — not 1000 requests/hour from day one.
Red flags in providers
- Strict KYC at signup — DPA signature, detailed use-case description, video verification. Hard to bypass; we recommend skipping.
- Enterprise orientation — if the site talks about "Fortune 500 clients" and "compliance-first", expect a verification block on affiliate work.
- No pay-as-you-go — only $200+ monthly subscriptions means they're filtering for serious teams only.
- No crypto checkout — the provider is intentionally filtering out "problematic" customers.
- A "Permitted use" section in Terms with an explicit list of forbidden cases (gambling, scraping social media, etc.).
Budget vs quality for affiliates
Realistic scenarios:
$300/month — affiliate starter
- 5 mobile dedicated ports × $25-30 = $150 (for working accounts)
- $50 on residential SOAX/Decodo (for landing-page testing)
- $50 on an anti-detect browser (Dolphin, Octobrowser)
- $50 on offers and tracker
$1000/month — scaling
- 20-25 mobile dedicated ports = $500-700
- $200 on a residential pool for parallel campaigns
- $100 on an anti-detect browser with 50+ profiles
- $100 on optimisation (tracker, spy tools, creatives)
$5000+/month — pro team
It's a mix at this point: 100+ mobile ports across 3-4 providers for geo redundancy, 200+ GB residential for testing, separate accounts per team member, dedicated VPS infrastructure for the anti-detect browsers.
Don't start with the most expensive setup. Most affiliates burn the first $1000-2000 on premium kit they don't actually need. A robust stack: SOAX residential + iProxy mobile + Dolphin Anty — covers 90% of the work for a team up to 5 people.
