Bright Data overview
Industry standard for enterprise. If you need maximum coverage and compliance, the premium is justified. Not a fit for iGaming.
Bright Data holds our Editor's Pick badge. The criteria we award it on are set out in the methodology.
Pros and cons
+ Strengths
- Largest IP pool on the market (150M+)
- Granular geo-targeting down to ZIP code
- Most powerful Proxy Manager with rotation rules
− Limitations
- Premium pricing
- Strict KYC, refusals on iGaming use-cases
- Complex interface — steep learning curve
Best for: enterprise scraping, ZIP-level geo, audited/DPA workloads.
Skip if: you need multi-accounting/grey use (strict KYC) or your budget is under $200/mo.
Standout: the Web Unlocker clears anti-bot where every other pool stalls.
Market position
Bright Data is the industry's heavy artillery: the largest documented pool (150M+ IPs, 195 countries), the deepest targeting (country → state → city → ZIP → ASN → carrier) and a product line running from raw proxies to Web Unlocker and ready-made datasets. The price matches: pay-as-you-go lists at $8/GB (discounted to $4/GB in October 2026), the top of the market.
What's genuinely good
Success rate on the hardest targets: where other pools stall against anti-bot walls, Bright Data gets through on IP quality and the Unlocker stack. Compliance is the industry benchmark — onboarding KYC, audited pool sourcing, ready DPAs. It's the one provider you can take into an enterprise procurement without caveats.
Weak spots
Price and complexity. The dashboard is crowded with products, billing is multi-dimensional, and KYC filters out half of the typical use-cases: multi-accounting and aggressive social scraping won't pass. For small projects it's overkill.
Who it's for
Teams with a steady ~200+ GB/mo, enterprise clients with compliance requirements, and anyone who needs ZIP-level geo. For everyone else, cheaper Decodo or IPRoyal cover 90% of the same jobs at a third of the price.
