LinkedIn sales prospecting — proxies for high-volume B2B research
Sales, RevOps and recruiting teams routinely scan LinkedIn for company moves, job changes and decision-maker signals. Doing it at scale without account locks needs the right proxy stack — and most pools get it wrong.

How to set up — step by step
1. Sticky residential is the floor — sticky mobile is the ceiling
LinkedIn fingerprints aggressively. Datacenter IPs draw a warning within minutes; rotating residential triggers the "unusual activity" interstitial as soon as the IP flips mid-session. Pin one residential or mobile IP to one warmed-up account for the full work-day and switch only between sessions.
2. One geo per identity, kept consistent
If the persona is based in Berlin, the IP needs to stay in DE for the entire account lifetime. A Berlin-based recruiter who logs in from Singapore for a single search will earn a manual review. Pick a provider with stable city-level targeting, not just country-level.
3. Throttle to human pace
The signal LinkedIn watches is action-per-minute, not requests-per-second. 30–60 profile views per hour is the sustainable ceiling; the platform tolerates bursts up to ~2× that but punishes anything resembling a crawler. Add jitter (2–8s between actions) and an evening idle window.
4. Anti-detect, not just a proxy
The proxy is one of five fingerprints LinkedIn cross-checks. Pair the IP with a real anti-detect browser (GoLogin, Multilogin, AdsPower), persistent cookies, and a webRTC leak block. A perfect residential IP next to a default Chrome profile still gets flagged.
⚡ The safe-rate cheat-sheet (nobody else publishes this)
Hard daily ceilings per account by warm-up age — the numbers we hold to internally. Stay under them and a residential/mobile IP lasts months; exceed them and even a flawless IP earns a checkpoint.
| Account age | Profile views/day | Connect reqs/day | InMails/day | Searches/day |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Week 1 (cold) | 15–20 | 0 | 0 | 5 |
| Weeks 2–4 | 40–60 | 5–8 | 0 | 15 |
| Months 2–3 | 80–120 | 15–20 | 5 | 30 |
| Aged (3 mo+) | 150–200 | 25–30 | 10–15 | 50 |
Kill-switch signals — pause the account the same hour you see any of these: a "Let's verify it's really you" interstitial, search capped at one page ("commercial use limit reached"), or connection requests that silently stop delivering. One day of pushing past the ceiling burns an IP's reputation for weeks — far more expensive than the throughput you gained.
